Question 1

Introduction

What Are Your Personal Strengths and Weaknesses? In this assignment, we will get to know our personal strengths and weaknesses and how to overcome such problems that encounters life from the phrase "To be skilled is to be able to perform a learned activity well and at will." is to learn how to perform well from overcoming the weaknesses and mastering our own personal strengths.

Main Body

During executing a task and knowing our personal strengths and weaknesses can help us a lot in choosing the right career or making good decisions. Because if we are able to focus what we do around our personal strengths, we have the chance to create something remarkable, while making it look like it’s almost effortless for us.

So our biggest strength is what is easy for us and probably not easy for everyone else. This is what we do best and where our real talents are. If we want to have a comfortable life, we should focus on using those strength to the fullest, because that’s where we have a competitive advantage and where we can create the most value for other people.

Also, similar to knowing our personal values, knowing your strengths and weaknesses raises our own self-awareness and gives us clarity.

In a strengths and weaknesses analysis we explore our strengths and weaknesses and try to discover the professional opportunities that exist for us. Our personal obstacles, issues that might hinder our progress, are discussed as well. A strengths and weaknesses analysis can also be called a personal SWOT analysis.

Probing our own strengths and weaknesses will clarify what the best next step is and how we can improve ourselves. It will also tell us more on where we would like to work and where we would be able to prove ourselves the most.

Define Your Personal Strengths

When we try to find our own strength, think about what comes naturally easy for us and don’t choose attributes that we would like to have or that we admire. This is a typical trap. Especially avoid those which seem hard to do for us.

My own biggest personal strength is

Strategic Thinking

Being focus

Learning

Creative

Analytical

Open-Minded

Inspiring

Visionary

Wise

Confident

It can also be interesting think about a big strength we have that is relatively rare in most other humans. For instance strategic thinking is a relatively rare quality, while for instance confidence or creativity is not really. So when we are thinking about our tasks, maybe we should build our work around those personal strengths that we do possess but most other people don’t. Then we can create the most value for others.

It’s also important not to confuse strengths with likes. What we like to do is not necessarily what we do best. It can be, but it’s not a given. Of course, for a successful career we want to combine these two in order to overlap our strengths with our passion.

Find Your Personal Weaknesses

Equally important as knowing our personal strengths is knowing our personal weaknesses. Those are attributes that we will have a hard time when doing it, it’s difficult for us. That’s why we should try to let people who are better than us to do this.

Everybody has weaknesses. It’s a natural thing, humans are not perfect. So don’t be embarrassed to look at our own weaknesses. It will help us to improve ourselves to know them better.

Here are my personal top 5 weaknesses

Lethargic

Ignorant

Slow

Stubborn

Hesitant

There are probably more than the ones listed above and if people ever give comments about us such as negative ones, be sure to listen and take note if we need to improve more about ourselves. So we have to work on those weaknesses in order to not make them matter too much in our life. Everybody have more weaknesses than listed, which is why we have to keep on checking. If we don’t, they will produce negative consequences and may even disrupt our efforts while we use our own strength.

Ways to improve our own personal strength and weaknesses

Awareness

Before we can begin to improve our personal strengths, we need to know what they are first. Becoming aware of our present strengths and weaknesses is an important consideration. This will require some soul searching and honesty about our personal development.

Persistence

Any attribute worth pursuing is going to take some work and require a high degree of persistence. Strength doesn’t come easily nor does weakness vanish easily. It will take some time and effort to improve our personal strengths and we should be prepared to extend both.

Weaknesses that can also be strengths

Examples:

Tell about your weaknesses that are also strengths.

"I am a hard-worker and sometimes I work too hard"

"I am a perfectionist and want everything to be done right the first time"

"I'm too helpful". A good helper towards those who need it. Tend to go to any limits while helping someone in trouble.

"I do not care for paperwork", so you try to get it all done by 10AM so I can go on to other things.

Conclusion

When we think about it at first we may think it is going to be difficult to improve our personal strengths, and we would be right! That is what makes it so worthwhile and why personal strengths are so cherished. Many just aren’t willing to expend the effort or energy to get it.

In order for us to be successful, it will be necessary for us to maintain a firm belief in ourselves and the willingness to exercise the persistence and do what is necessary to reach the our goal. If we do so, we will improve our personal strengths.

Never disregard any comments being made by outsiders or family members or else we would not be able to move forward or to improve ourselves with such limited knowledge.

Question 2

Introduction

Passion to study is something impossible to do in this modern era but with a little push and motivational talks from someone close will probably give us some passion to study. This is because scientist has proven that, the young generation to have no interest to study but if a reward is given for studying or having the thoughts of studying hard to accomplish big things in life might just be the only reasons for someone to have passion in studying. Quote from The Confucius "you can lead a horse to the water but you cannot make it drink." Means you can’t force a person to do something they do not wish to do.

Main Body

In my opinion, to drive myself to study is impossible unless I were to divide the times between studying and playing which may help myself to get through the hardships of giving myself the passion to study.

Firstly, studying may cause stress which isn’t going to help us having the passion to study. We should have studying time and playing time such as two to three hours of studying after having our lunch. Playing time should be divided after studying and taking a break such as playing video games or exercising to clear up our minds to release our stress.

Below are examples of having the passion or motivating yourself to study:

Find a quiet space with few distractions

This could be a library, a cafe, a room in your house, or anywhere else that is free from excess noise and interruptions. Avoid places where you're likely to run into your friends.

Stock up on study supplies

Make sure you have all the pens, pencils, paper, highlighters, and Post-Its you need. You don't want to interrupt your study time to get more

Keep a small stash of water and snacks by your side

People are more productive when they're hydrated and taking steady sips of water will help stave off thirst. Small snacks like peanuts, granola bars, or fruit will help keep you energized.

Wear comfortable clothing

Little things like having to pull up your trousers can eat away at your concentration. Wear clothes that are familiar, fit loosely, and don't constrict you.

Put your cellphone on silent mode

You do not want to be taking calls from friends and family members when you're trying to study. Let them know in advance that you need time to study, if you think they'll be concerned.

If possible, turn off the computer.

Unless you absolutely need it for studying, turn the computer off. It's a minefield of potential distractions. It's all too easy to tell yourself "I just want to check my e-mail" or "Let me just look at this bit of celebrity gossip." Before you know it, you've wasted a whole hour.

Set concrete goals for your study session

Think in specific, achievable goals instead of vague generalities. Instead of telling yourself, "I have to get good at math," think of a specific goal such as, "I will learn how to graph a quadratic equation." Achieving this goal will make you feel accomplished at the end of your study session.

Reward yourself when you complete your goal

Think of a small way to reward yourself when you've met your goal. If you're in the middle of a study session, you can take a quick walk, eat a granola bar, or listen to a favorite song. If you've finished your study session, then feel free to have some fun by playing games, talking to friends, or watching a video.

Think of what you will achieve by studying

In order to keep up a positive attitude, try to visualize the good things that will come to you by studying. Imagine getting a good score on a test, receiving praise from your teacher, or the good college you might be planning to attend. Although studying is sometimes boring and hard, thinking of the end result will keep you pushing ahead.

Make a study schedule

Set aside a specific block of time for studying for each day that you need it rather than telling yourself vaguely, "I'll have to study sometime this week." Planning it out will make it easier to stick to your resolution.

Do not procrastinate

Don't wait until the last minute to study for a big exam or read a 100-page chapter. If it is assigned on Monday and due Friday, start on Monday and finish early in the week so you don't have to worry about it at the last minute. Never do things on last minutes regardless anything, always plan ahead.

Just get started!

Sometimes that can be the hardest part. If your study schedule looks too daunting, set a smaller goal. Consider reading half of the chapter today and half tomorrow. Just do one or two problems from the workbook. Remember that it is always better to do a little now than end up doing nothing at all.

Conclusion

In the end by achieving all the goals, the benefit is us to gain not someone else and to able to do so will also allow us to accomplish many things such as career, being matured, and so on.
